What kind of comics should I submit?
We really like seeing fiction and memoir. In terms of genre, we love to see original fiction and memoir, and we tend to steer away from superheroes and zombies. For logistical guidelines, visit the submission guidelines.
Will I get paid if my work is accepted?
You will be paid in many accolades! You will not be paid in currency, however.
Do I need to attend Emerson to write for Artful Comics?
Yes— all of our writers are Emerson students.
Do I need to attend Emerson to illustrate for Artful Comics?
No! We love to collaborate with illustrators from surrounding Boston colleges. Please email artfulcomics@gmail.com if you would like to illustrate a script.
Where can I read the first volume?
Right on this website! But not until late Fall, 2010...
Do you publish in print?
We will print a limited number of black and white hard copies which will be distributed for free on Emerson's campus, and we publish in color on this website.
How often do you publish anthologies?
We are but a fledgling organization with nary a steadfast schedule, but we are gunning for once a year. So, annually.
